On 12 Feb, the 2020 JET Programme Returnees Reception was held at the Official Residence of the Ambassador of Japan to New Zealand.
Eight recent returnees attended the reception and were warmly welcomed and praised for their success in Japan by all of the reception attendees.
At the reception, the Ambassador of Japan to New Zealand, President of JETAA Wellington, and Executive Director of CLAIR Sydney all gave welcoming speeches. The returnees also gave a speech each and spoke about their memories of Japan.
The reception was an excellent opportunity for the JET community in Wellington to get to know one another as the returnees and reception attendees, which included past JET Programme participants, shared their experiences and future aspirations in the networking session.
We hope that all the recent returnees will make the most of their experiences in Japan, and that they will continue to play an important role to further strengthen the relationships between New Zealand and Japan.
