Japan Food & Drink Professional’s Expo 2017

On 13 November, Saitama Prefectural Government and Saitama Prefecture Products & Tourism Association held the Japan Food & Drink Professional’s EXPO 2017 at a sushi restaurant in Sydney and CLAIR Sydney was there to help on the day.

For three years, Saitama Prefecture has placed a lot of focus on this event to help boost exports of their local products. This year 10 companies from Saitama took part in the expo. The expo was split into two events: one where these companies had business meetings with restaurants and trading companies based in Sydney together with some workshops for sake or how to make yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and the other was a special dinner showcasing local beer, sake and food from Saitama.

According to representatives from Saitama Prefecture, many attendees were local restaurant owners and chefs, who shared insights into the local market and local requirements. The delegation from Saitama was very happy with the outcomes achieved at the Expo and they look forward to sharing the results with their colleagues back home to further promote export growth and discover other local companies who are keen to expand business overseas.
