From 21st to 22nd of July, we did some research on Melbourne Bike Share (MBS) and interviewed Mr Mazzei, at SGS Economics & Planning, and Mr Oakley, General Manager at RACV. We gained a better understanding of this bike-share system from the interviews. Some things we learned included: the difference between MBS and other bike-share systems, the barriers MBS faces and their strategy to increase the number of users.
We are planning to write an article about MBS for the CLAIR FORUM magazine (in Japanese) which will be issued on 25th of September. We hope this will be useful when Japanese local governments introduce their own bike-share system.
