Sanda City is located in the southeastern part of Hyogo Prefecture, approximately 25 kilometers north of Kobe\u2019s urban center, across the Rokko Mountain Range, and around 35 kilometers northwest of Osaka.

They spoke of the unforgettable experiences they had\u2014connecting with local people, enjoying city tours, and exploring the region\u2019s breathtaking scenery.<\/p>\n From July to August of the same year, a photo exhibition titled “A Life-Changing Encounter with Sanda”<\/em> was held at the Sanda City Urban Development Collaboration Center. It featured photos and keepsakes from a former exchange student from the Blue Mountains, who studied in Sanda in 1997 and is now active in Japan as an international lawyer. \n<\/strong>In 1986, former Mayor Peter Kirk and his wife visited Sanda City through the Australian Consulate-General and the New South Wales Tourism Board, during their trip to Japan for the International Tourism Congress in Tokyo. This visit laid the foundation for the official sister city relationship established in 1988.<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>In 2023, the cities celebrated the 35th anniversary of their sister city relationship. Runners from the Blue Mountains participated in the 35th Sanda International Masters Marathon.
